July 30-Aug 4, 2017
Share the adventure of wilderness backpacking with your family at Camp Squeah’s Go Beyond Family Camp. Here’s an opportunity for parents and children to bond through the shared experience of a multi-day hike in BC’s beautiful backcountry. Build lifelong memories as you explore the best wilderness BC has to offer.
Whether it’s your first time wearing a backpack, or you’re a seasoned outdoors enthusiast, Go Beyond Family Camp gives you the chance to take a hike with your family. Our goal is that you build stronger relationships with your teenage children, enjoy some amazing scenery, get in some good exercise, and learn some backcountry skills along the way with our experienced staff.
Go Beyond Family Camper will spend their first night onsite at Camp Squeah in one of our beautiful Emory or Fraser lodges. Families will be involved in preparing for the trip, complete with expert help to do gear checks and make sure everyone is prepared for the trip. Families will then spend 3-4 nights on a guided wilderness backpacking hike before returning for one final night onsite.

Hiking and backcountry camping do require a certain level of physical fitness. Daily activity may include hiking up to 10km (6 miles) carrying 18kg+ (40lbs+) on your back. Please ensure that all participants are prepared for such activity. At registration you will also be asked to rate each participant’s fitness level (Low, Medium, High).
No backcountry experience is required by participants. Camp Squeah staff and guides are experienced and prepared to lead backcountry trips, however, it is helpful for them to understand the level of experience of each participant. At registration you will be asked to rate each participant’s level of backcountry experience (Beginner, Novice, Expert, Pro).
Go Beyond Family Camp registration requires each payer or registrant to contact our registrar by e-mail, fax or phone. Download the Go Beyond Family Camp registration form, fill it out and send it in by e-mail, fax or mail.
Families need to be in the same accommodation unless they exceed the number of beds. If you have any questions regarding this, please feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Go Beyond registration and payment must be received two weeks before the start date of the program to ensure adequate time for trip planning.
A deposit of half the total registration amount must accompany registration form. The remainder must be paid by June 30th. Fax or phone registrations may be paid by VISA or Mastercard.
The generosity of donors makes it possible for children of low-income families to attend camp through our Campership Fund. If you would like to contribute to the Campership Fund, please contact the camp office, donate online or include a separate cheque with your registration.
The Campership Fund is available to children of families requiring financial assistance. Families may apply for Campership by contacting the camp office for an application form or by downloading it.
In the event of a cancellation, the registration amount, less an administration fee of $100 per family, will be refunded. Cancellations within two weeks of the camp session start date are not eligible for a refund, except in situations of accident or serious illness.
A certified first aid attendant will be provided at all camps. Children will, however, remain in the care of their parents in the event that medical attention is necessary.
Registration data will only be used to register families for summer camp and to mail next year’s brochure. It will not be shared with anyone else for any other purpose.
