We’re Moving to Cabins! – Important Update June 9, 2021

We are excited to announce that Camp Squeah will be transitioning our 2021 Go Beyond summer camps to onsite overnight camps, utilizing our cabin accommodations. Following the publication of new Public Health guidelines for summer camps, Camp Squeah has elected to run our planned Go Beyond camps onsite, rather than remotely, in order to utilize our traditional facilities and activities.

Family Camps remain unchanged.

Previously published dates for all camps remain unchanged.

Family Camp – Daily Program

  • July 4-8, 2021 and July 18-22, 2021
  • Goal: creating opportunity for families to stay at Squeah, and offering children an “at camp” experience while supported by their family
  • Check-in at 6pm on Sunday, check-out 7pm on Thursday
  • Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner provided in the dining hall Mon-Thu
  • Accommodation options include
    • Emory Lodge (ensuite washrooms)
    • RV/Tenting
  • Day camp style programming provided for children 3 – 12
    • Children will be assigned to the same age appropriate cohort and staff team each day
    • Programming will run from 9:30am – 4:30pm, with a one hour break for children to join families for lunch
    • Activities will be structured to limit close contacts as much as possible

Family Camp – Weekend Program

  • July 30 – August 2, 2021 (BC Day long weekend)
  • Goal: creating opportunity for parents and children to participate in camp together.
  • While there are significant differences, for those curious about comparisons, this camp will be the most similar to our Family Camp in previous years.
  • Check-in at 3pm on Friday, check-out 3pm on Monday
  • Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner provided in the dining hall
  • Accommodation options include
    • Emory Lodge (ensuite washrooms)
    • RV/Tenting
  • Family style programming provided through the weekend
    • Family friendly activities facilitated during the day
    • Evening campfire snack
  • Childcare options may be available, TBD

Family Camping – CLOSED FOR 2021 SEASON

Note: Guests can book both July 14-16 and 16-18 back to back to stay entire 4 days.
  • Goal: a self-sufficient family experience at Camp Squeah, similar to staying at a campground
  • Accommodations only
    • Select Emory and Fraser lodge rooms
    • Select RV/Tenting sites
  • Most accommodations do not include food storage or preparation facilities, therefore families are encouraged to bring their own camping supplies
  • No food services or programming provided
  • Campfire ban is currently in effect.  Campers are  welcome to bring your own propane fueled campfire ring.
  • Camping by reservation only. To avoid disappointment please book your spot early.  Pre-registration is required (at least 7 days in advance).  As such, we will not be able to accommodate  ‘drop in’ campers.

** With an aim to keeping guest numbers under 50, and having a relaxed, uncrowded camping experience, we may further limit the # of spots available in each area.
Notes:
There will be about 10 campfire pits available on the grounds
Every group/site will have access to 1 picnic table per 6 people
Arrival/Departure time - 12 noon

All guests will follow PHO protocols to minimize covid transmission. See campsite etiquette brochure for guidance.

Go Beyond Overnight Children’s Camps

  • Slightly modified versions of our traditional summer camps
  • Small camper groups (<12) will participate in programming, dining, and accommodations as a ‘household’
  • Priority will be given to spend time outdoors, including encouraging outdoor eating for meals
  • Go Beyond: Junior (ages 10-12)
  • Go Beyond: Middle (ages 12-14)
    • Will include our traditional backpacking overnighter experience
  • Go Beyond: Teen (ages 14-16)
    • Will include our traditional backpacking overnighter experience

Go Beyond Teen Wotten (ages 14-16)

  • Co-ed extended backcountry hiking trip
  • Small camper group (max 12)
  • Programming will focus on outdoor recreation, backcountry camping protocols, and experiencing the wilderness
